Plagiarism Policy

Lentera Ilmu: Jurnal Kependidikan, Riset, dan Teoritis checks all submitted manuscripts for plagiarism using Turnitin. The journal will immediately reject any manuscript found to contain plagiarism or self-plagiarism.

The journal is committed to ensuring that all authors exercise due diligence and adhere to international standards of academic integrity, particularly concerning issues of plagiarism.

Plagiarism occurs when an author takes ideas, information, or words from another source without providing appropriate credit or acknowledgment. Even if committed unintentionally, plagiarism is considered a serious academic offense and is unacceptable in international scholarly publishing.

The following guidelines apply:

  • Use of specific information — If an author obtains specific information (e.g., names, dates, locations, statistical figures, or other detailed information) from a source, proper citation must be provided. Exceptions apply only to general knowledge, which refers to information available from more than five sources or well-known facts (e.g., the fact that Indonesia is the most populous Muslim-majority country in the world).
  • Use of ideas — If an author takes an idea from another writer, citation is still required, even if the idea is further developed. This includes ideas related to data interpretation, methodological choices, drawing conclusions, or identifying general trends in a field. Authors must cite the original source of the idea before presenting their own elaboration.
  • Use of exact wording — If an author takes a sentence from another writer, both citation and quotation marks must be used. If four or more words are identical to the source text, quotation marks are mandatory to indicate the use of the original wording; merely providing a citation is insufficient.

Lentera Ilmu treats violations of academic integrity with the utmost seriousness and reserves the right to withdraw acceptance of any article found to breach the above standards.
