Author Guidelines

Lentera Ilmu: Jurnal Kependidikan, Riset, dan Teoritis, published twice a year, is a peer-reviewed journal that focuses on research and issues in Islamic Education and other fields of Islamic studies. Its aim is to provide readers with a deeper understanding of Islamic education and to present the latest developments through the publication of scholarly articles and research reports.

This journal invites academics and experts from various disciplines of Islamic education and Islamic studies. Submitted articles must be original, either research-based or well-grounded theoretical works, have not been previously published, and are not under review for publication in other journals. All submitted manuscripts will undergo a review process conducted by the editor, the editorial board, and anonymous reviewers (blind review). Manuscripts that do not comply with the required format or length will be rejected without review, unless the authors are willing to revise them in accordance with the journal’s guidelines.

General Requirements

1. Authors must register on the Lentera Ilmu: Jurnal Kependidikan, Riset dan Teoritis e-journal platform before submitting their manuscripts, and complete the registration form in full.
2. Manuscripts submitted must be original articles that have never been published in any journal or other media.
3. Authors must prepare manuscripts using the provided Article Template and follow the Online Submission Guidelines on the Open Journal Systems (OJS).
4. Manuscripts may be written in American English or Indonesian with a formal style and structure.
5. Articles must be submitted in Microsoft Word format, using Times New Roman font (12 pt), 1.5 spacing, on A4 paper size (21 cm × 29.7 cm), with a length of 12–20 pages (approximately 6,000–10,000 words).
6. The manuscript must be the author’s own original work.
7. Authors are responsible for thoroughly checking citation accuracy, grammar, tables, and figures before submission.
8. Manuscripts must be submitted online via the Lentera Ilmu journal website. For confirmation, a Submission Checklist must be sent to the editorial email (lenterailmu_journal@stitgt.ac.id).
9. Authors are required to revise their articles after receiving feedback from the editorial board.
10. All manuscripts will be reviewed by the Editorial Board.

Article Format

1. Manuscripts must be in Microsoft Word format (LaTeX, PDF, or other formats are not accepted).
2. The article length should be 12–20 pages (approximately 6,000–10,000 words), including references.
3. The structure of the article must include:

• • Title – Concise, clear, and informative, up to 15 words, written as a phrase or clause (capitalize each main word, bold, centered, Times New Roman 14 pt).
  • Author Name(s) – Full names without academic titles, bold, Times New Roman 11 pt.
  • Affiliation/Institution – Full name of institution/university and country, Times New Roman 11 pt.
  • Email Address – Corresponding author’s email placed below the affiliation (Times New Roman 10 pt). The corresponding author is responsible for communication during the review, publication, and post-publication process.
  • Abstract in English and Indonesian – 150–250 words in a single paragraph without tables, figures, formulas, or citations. Must include research objective, method, findings, and brief conclusion. Palatino Linotype 10 pt, single-spaced.
  • Keywords – 3–5 words/phrases representing the research topic.
  • The section from the abstract to keywords should use Times New Roman font, 1 spacing.

Section Guidelines

Abstract

The abstract should state the main research objective, method, findings, and conclusion. It must be written in both English and Indonesian, using Times New Roman 10 pt, single spacing, and between 150–250 words. Keywords (3–5 words) should reflect the scope of the problem and core research terms.

Introduction

The introduction must include:

1. Overview of the research topic.
2. A review of the latest relevant literature (last 10 years).
3. Research gap, inconsistencies, or controversies in the literature.
4. Problem formulation, objectives, research context, and unit of analysis.
5. A brief outline of the article content.

Research Method

Clearly describe the research procedures, including research design, population/sample, data collection techniques, instruments, procedures, and data analysis techniques. For qualitative research, include the researcher’s role, subjects/informants, location, duration, and validation methods.

Results and Discussion

Present research findings concisely yet comprehensively, supported by tables or figures with explanatory narratives. Avoid detailed statistical calculations—present only the results. The discussion should answer the research problems, interpret findings, relate them to previous studies and theories, and offer new contributions. Authors must cite reputable international (Scopus) and national (Sinta) journals.

Conclusion

Summarize the main research findings that answer the research questions, align with the study objectives, and may include future research prospects or implications.

References

References must meet the following requirements:

1. Use a reference manager (Zotero or Mendeley) with Chicago Manual Style – Full Note, 17th Edition (footnote format).
2. Arrange references alphabetically.
3. Follow the exact format of the Chicago Manual Style – Full Note, 17th Edition.
